Love this place. Owners treat you like family rather than a $ sign like the other resorts.
There were 2 double beds and 1 twin. The twin had no box spring, just plywood. And was very noticeable when laying on it. My double had crumbs in the sheets. We didn't even bring food into the room.
The AC/heating unit dried out the room so much we were all coughing every morning. The couch went away throughout the day, while we were out of the room. But was back every morning. And if we turned it off, the room got very cold. Probably because we could see daylight through the crack in the door. If light can get in, so can the -22 degree air.
On our last night, after coming back to find the towels had not been replaced, we found the tip envelop for the maid. Again, tacky. I don't know how other people handle tipping maid service, but for me to tip you, you have to do more than grab our towels and supply fresh ones. Dirty sheets. Dirty tub. Very slow drain. Inconsistent maid service. Suffocating Ac/heating. Not worth the money.
Another member of our party, in a different room did not have towels. Another did not have a shower curtain. And another had no maid service at all. No fresh towels. Nothing.
We've stayed in their ice fishing sleepers a few years and had a great experience every time. Service is great and they treat you like family.
For as much as we paid, one should at least get the basics. Clean towels. Fresh sheets. Consistent maid service. Towel rack. Shower curtain.
The shower drain did not drain completely at all. By the time I finished my 15 minute shower, the water had risen to my ankles. Gross.
There were tacky, laminated notices taped up in various parts of the room. While these notices were seen and therefore did their job, there are better ways.
We stayed here for several nights. It was terrible. The maid service consisted of new towels all but 1 of the days and occasionally replacing the plastic cups. Out last night we expected to come back to clean towels, as we the rest of the nights. We were disappointed to find that would not be the case. The maid did replace the plastic cups, so we knew someone had stopped in. There was not a towel rack By the sink, where people wash their face and brush their teeth, and wash their hands. There should be a towel rack to hang at least 1 wash cloth and a hand towel.
All the rooms smelled heavily of fabric softener or air freshener. None of us were sure what it was.
